Sundays

Coming along to one of our Sunday services is the best way to find out about us – and we trust to find out more about Jesus too.

On normal Sundays we meet at 09.15 and 11.00 at Birkdale Prep School, and at 18.00 at St Augustine’s church building. The services generally last a little over an hour.

In the mornings, after a time all together, children from 0-11 head out to dedicated groups with their leaders. From 10.30-11.00 we have tea/coffee together (please bring a thermos mug if you can!), and enjoy fellowship time.

At 18.00 we have “Deeper”. It is mainly adults and students, but there are some families with older children too. It lasts about an hour and we have a time of worship and prayer, a mini-sermon (on the same passage as the morning), and then topical teaching on an aspect of Christianity. Afterwards, people head home or head out together to spend time socially. And from time to time we run Sunday evening courses for those wanting to ask questions and find out more about faith.

In all our services, we speak to God in prayer, we sing to God and each other with a mix of classic and contemporary hymns and songs, and we listen to God’s word in the Bible.
